Refractory Specialist

The role and impact
We are looking for either a bricklayer / refractory specialist that wants to gain new knowledge and would like to use the profession in a new way or a mechanical engineer preferably with refractory knowledge.

 

The role is based in our new office in Krakow and will involve travelling to destinations all over the world several times a year. In doing so, you are going to explore the world of Topsoes many complex technologies while working with a range of interdisciplinary projects.

As part of the refractory team, you will use your professional and hands on experience to guide and control our supplier and ensure high quality of our proprietary equipment to our customers. You will join our expanding refractory team which now consist of 8 refractory specialists

Your area of responsibility will be

  • To travel frequently in workshops and sites for supervision during refractory installation for quality control and supervision.
  • Communication with suppliers and participate in refractory inspections and testing activities in workshop and sites.
  • Participation in procurement activities for refractory.
  • Attend meetings with customers and suppliers to discuss refractory subjects
  • Review supplier’s refractory drawings / documents
  • Participating in Kaizen activities and contribute to technical improvements in refractory engineering

You are both detail- and deadline oriented. You can use your practical knowledge and share and instruct others. You know how to get things done and can fulfill our customers needs on time.

Besides that, it is important to us, that you:

  • Have a skilled worker certificate as bricklayer AND/OR have a B.Sc. or a M.Sc. in mechanical engineering
  • Have 2+ years of relevant experience in refractory/bricklayer
  • Have detailed knowledge of refractory products including castable Lining, Ceramic Fibre Lining and Insulation Brick Lining works.
  • Have Good knowledge of international codes and standards applicable for Refractory and insulation is required
  • Are open to travel frequently for both short- and long-term customer support
  • Have an open mind and willingness to acquire new knowledge, specially in areas you are not familiar with.
  • Are fluent in English both spoken and written

 

And it will be advantage if you:

  • have API 936 certification and good knowledge of NDT and welding

Your new team

In the Mechanical department we are approx. 100 people divided into 7 groups placed in 4 locations. We are working closely together across the locations and groups. Our focus is to deliver the right quality on time to our customers all over the world and give them the needed support.
