Role and impact:
As a Senior Engineer specializing in Finite Element Analysis (FEA), you will play a pivotal role in the Mechanical Department (Finite Element Solutions). You will collaborate with a global team of dedicated FEA specialists and engineers, working on proprietary equipment such as Waste Heat Boilers, Methanol (MeOH) reactors, and Refinery Reactor Internals. Your expertise will be essential in supporting both external technology projects and internal development initiatives, ensuring that Topsoe’s standards are met and continuously improved. You will engage with stakeholders across the organization, including Job Engineers, Project Managers, and Technology Product Managers, to deliver innovative solutions for advanced pressure-bearing equipment exposed to high pressures and temperatures. Your contributions will directly impact the safety, efficiency, and innovation of our product portfolio.
What you will bring:
You bring a strong background in mechanical engineering, with deep expertise in solid mechanics, finite element analysis, and programming—particularly using Python. Your proficiency with FEA software such as ANSYS (Classic and Workbench), including APDL, sets you apart, and familiarity with pressure vessel codes like ASME VIII-2 and EN 13445 is highly valued. Experience with AutoCAD, INVENTOR, and Nastran, as well as knowledge of fatigue and creep analysis, will be advantageous. You are analytical, self-motivated, and able to manage complexity across multiple projects. Your communication skills enable you to present complex findings clearly, and you thrive in a collaborative, global environment where you can both drive results and inspire innovation. You have a degree in mechanical engineering and 8-12 years of experience working within solid mechanics, FE analyses and programming and software development using Python.
