Senior Instrumental Engineer
Role and impact
As a Senior Instrumentation Engineer at our new office in Krakow, you will play a key role in the Instrumentation & Electrical Department within our Global Supply Technology division. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality instrumentation engineering across project phases, from design and documentation to site support and testing.
In this role, you will:
- Prepare and review instrumentation engineering deliverables such as instrument index, I/O lists, hook-up diagrams, loop diagrams, cause-and-effect diagrams, and instrument datasheets
- Sizing and selection of Inline instruments such as flow instruments, control valves and PSV sizing.
- Review detailed engineering documentation and ensure compliance with project requirements, standards, and quality expectations
- Participate in P&ID reviews, HAZOP studies, and SIL assessments/verifications
- Act as site advisor for standard Topsoe project scope sites, supporting instrumentation activities during execution
- Inspect instrumentation equipment such as thermocouples, control valves, PSVs and support FAT and SAT of control systems
- Contribute to procurement, inspection, installation, and implementation of field instrumentation in close collaboration with cross-functional teams
Your technical expertise and practical experience will be essential in ensuring robust engineering solutions and successful project execution in an international and collaborative environment.
What you will bring
You have 10+ years of experience within instrumentation engineering and hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Instrumentation, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent. You bring hands-on experience with instrument sizing and selection, preferably in Conval and/or Engineering Base, and with preparing and reviewing key instrumentation deliverables, including instrument indexes, I/O lists, hook-up and loop diagrams, cause-and-effect diagrams, instrument datasheets, control valve documentation, and PSV sizing.
You have knowledge of functional safety, including preliminary SIL assessments, experience with procurement, inspection, and installation of field instruments, and a good understanding of control systems. You are familiar with relevant international standards, including ISO, API, ISA, IEC/IES, CE, and NEC, and you work effectively across cultures and functions.
You thrive in multicultural environments, are willing to travel nationally and internationally (40-60 days in a year), and possess strong collaboration, networking, and communication skills.
