We have exciting opportunities for talented and highly skilled individuals with entrepreneurial mindsets to support the Field service manager in Aftermarket Services Power to X Operations and Maintenance. Join the Topsoe family to enable our goal to be the global leader within carbon emission reduction technologies for the chemical and refining industries. As a fundamental member of the Power-to-X entity reporting to the Field service manager in the After-Market Service team. The role will start in Lyngby and Frederikssund moving to Worldwide deployment at customer facilities.


The Operations team will be controlling and ensuring continuous onsite availability, capability, and deliverables of the Power-to-X Technical Operations Support Team at the Customer Facilities 24/7/365.


The Operations team function is to manage the daily operational reliability target and the contractual obligations to the customer including but not limited to Technical Management and implementation, Maintenance management and execution and component field management for Sustained, Optimised Operations. Acting as an ambassador for Topsoe products and main focal point for our services to the customer at their Facilities. 


Purpose and Accountability
The Technical Service Team Service Engineer plays a pivotal role in guaranteeing the optimal operation and peak performance of Topsoe equipment and technologies installed at the customer Plant facilities globally. Executing maintenance activities, tackling issues as they arise, and implementing proactive strategies to minimize downtime and boost overall productivity. As a Plant Operations Technical Service Team, Service Engineer, you will play a pivotal part in upholding the seamless and efficient Plant Operations and maintenance of our customer plant facilities. Your primary duties will encompass routine/scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and repairs, intended at preserving our equipment and machinery in their best condition, to deliver performance guarantees and turnkey solutions with end-to-end support and onsite availability to our customers. Your specialized skills and meticulous approach will be instrumental in minimizing downtime, increasing productivity, and upholding the safety of our workforce and products. 


Deliverables

  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules and procedures to maximize equipment reliability and minimize unplanned downtime.
  • Perform repairs and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical systems to resolve breakdowns and malfunctions promptly. Conduct regular inspections and preventative maintenance on plant equipment and machinery to identify potential issues and address them proactively.
  • Collaborate with the Engineering and Material Management teams to plan maintenance activities, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of maintenance activities, including work orders, repair logs, and equipment history records.
  • Conduct root cause analysis on equipment failures and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and innovative technologies in plant maintenance to enhance efficiency and optimize equipment performance.
  • Coordinate with external service providers and contractors for specialized repairs or maintenance tasks as per contractual arrangements.

What you’ll bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. Or equivalent recognised Company Technical Apprenticeship as an Electrician, Blacksmith, Mechanic or similar.
  • Proven experience as a Plant operations and Maintenance Engineer or a similar role in a Manufacturing or Industrial setting.
  • Minimum 5 years Maintenance experience in Oil/Gas Refinery, Chemical Industry, or pharmaceuticals on execution of routine, Scheduled and Unscheduled maintenance activities and Plant shutdowns.
  • Strong Technical knowledge and analytical skills of Mechanical, Electrical systems and calibration of instruments. Ability to read and apply technical documentation, Specification, data, schematics, and drawings.
  • Proficiency in using various tools and equipment for troubleshooting and repair.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills to identify and resolve complex equipment issues.
  • Knowledge of preventive maintenance principles and practices with Strong working knowledge of Engineering Codes and Practices. 
  • Advantages of any industrial certified training as an example, Crane certificate, Welding certificate, Hot work, confined space working at heights certification and experience.
  • Proficiency in computerised maintenance management systems, Familiarity with regulatory guidelines and standards related to plant maintenance, such as ISO 9001 and API standards.
  • Certification in maintenance-related areas such as CMRP (Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional) is preferred. 
  • Ability to work in physically demanding conditions.
  • Understanding of the Solid Oxide Electrolyser Cell process and ammonia plant experience is an advantage.
