Senior EU Regulatory Manager

Help Topsoe navigate EU regulations to ensure the energy transition  

The role and impact

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior EU Regulatory Manager to join our dynamic Public Affairs Team. In this role, you will be responsible for driving Topsoe’s interests within the EU regulatory process as well as supporting efforts around international funding opportunities outside the EU, helping to drive our mission to accelerate the energy transition.

This pivotal role will involve navigating the complex regulatory landscape related to energy transition, ensuring compliance, and strategically influencing policy development to support our mission. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of energy regulations, a passion for sustainability, and the expertise to guide our company through the evolving regulatory environment.

In this role you will:

  • Monitor and analyze EU regulations relevant for Topsoe´s clean energy technologies
  • Draft EU consultation responses and company position papers in close cooperation with our commercial organization, while also working closely with our Public Affairs office in Brussels to ensure alignment with our policy advocacy in the EU and EU Member States.
  • Review funding related regulations and drive efforts around them. This would include leading our interactions with EU funding institutions such as EIB and EU funding programs in third countries such as the Global Gateway and other International Financial Institutions (IFIs)

We are looking for an experienced candidate with a strong background in EU regulatory affairs management, preferably within the energy sector and from similar positions in the private sector.

Here are a few things you can expect to be doing: 

  • Monitor and analyze EU regulation critical to Topsoe´s business
  • Translate EU policies into commercial understanding and help the businesses understand policies. 
  • Draft EU consultation responses and position papers in close cooperation with our commercial organization and our PA office in Brussels 
  • Join the Public Affairs team for key government stakeholder meetings
  • Monitor funding opportunities in priority geographies outside the EU
  • Act as a point of contract for our commercial organization within your responsibilities
  • Communicate with stakeholders, both internal and external.  

What you’ll bring

We expect that you will be our trusted expert within EU regulation and international funding and that you can tick the following: 

  • A master’s degree in law, political science, economics, business, or equivalent competent studies
  • Long-standing experience with EU regulatory affairs management (minimum 5 years of relevant experience)
  • Technical expertise is a must 
  • Understanding of international funding, network in IFIs is an advantage 
  • Experience from the energy sector is preferred
  • Ability to interact with technical people and translate their input into EU consultations responses
  • Excellent analytic and communication skills
  • Fluency in English, both orally and in writing
