Business Development in Topsoe is a crucial part of our ambitious growth strategy. We are looking for a driven and empathetic commercial leader to head our highly talented Business Development team.
As Head of Business Development, you will have the overall responsibility for maturing new business opportunities until fully developed repeatable operating business . This in close collaboration with the Ventures team and in close alignment with the Head of Ventures and Business Development, VP.
You will be based in our headquarters in Denmark, with travel activities to stakeholders, conferences and business partners in various industries around the world.
Some of responsibilities of the job is to
- translate Topsoe corporate strategy into an operational business development strategy and drive execution through concrete actions
- identify new growth opportunities as the basis for driving market expansion and ensuring the successful commercialization of our new solutions
- lead the development of market intelligence, customer insights, strategic guidance, and partnership opportunities that are crucial for advancing projects through relevant gate models, from initial concept to successful commercialization
- secure that new insights are internalized by the organization as required to drive strategic change, market entry and market expansion and ensure Topsoe’s entrance in new verticals or geographic regions, leveraging emerging tech solutions and products.
What you’ll bring
To be successful in the role, we expect that you
- are a passionate and empathetic leader with a highly strategic and commercial mindset, are well versed in developing and executing business plans and business cases, capable of ensuring relevant development activities and naturally seek to identify, prioritize and resolve most critical uncertainties with your team, whether they are strategic, commercial, technical or legal in nature
- have an analytical and strategic mindset and a natural focus and passion for new business creation and innovation
- have existing knowledge – and can rapidly build new knowledge - on emerging trends (e.g. macro, market, regulatory and competitor strategies), customer needs and competitor strategies
- understand technologies and their attractiveness to clients and can analyze, navigate and prioritize markets in terms of nature of projects, financial impact, segments and regions
- thrive on network building on all organizational levels, including through informal indirect leadership
- are proactive and persistent in achieving your goals as a self-driven leader and executer.
