HSE Business Partner for EPCM

The role and impact
We are seeking a highly skilled and pro-active individual with extensive experience, to bring a pragmatic approach to HSE in EPCM projects. You will take the lead on and be actively involved in projects where some of your key tasks will be:

• Provide support to the EPCM Project Managers on national and international HSE requirements as well as internal Topsoe requirements to ensure HSE compliance within the EPCM projects until successful handover of the project to client or to associated Topsoe business operation
• Provide guidance and support to external HSE Advisors assigned to the individual projects to ensure that the Topsoe HSE Management System is understood, and compliance is achieved
• Work closely with the Global HSE Team and business HSE leaders in developing and alignment of Topsoe HSE standards and processes and ensuring their implementation in EPCM projects
• Lead regular HSE incident reviews, involving a wide range of stakeholders and with a strong focus on sharing and learning from HSE events
• Engage regularly with our Director of EPCM Construction Management, Director of EPCM Project Management, Project Managers and their associated Engineering teams, where your role is to bring challenge and support for all HSE matters 
• Where necessary, support the Global and Business HSE Leaders on HSE aspects required during the pre-qualification, bidding and proposals stage of client EPCM projects
• Attend regular leadership meetings and be actively involved in EPCM workshops and employee meetings.

 
What you’ll bring 
We are really looking to raise our game regarding HSE in EPCM projects. This requires someone who is to some degree a disruptor, brings energy to delivery, has an engaging and collaborative style and appreciates that safety should be a personal value, that drives the right behaviors.  

Relevant experience includes having carried out a senior HSE role in EPCM projects preferably in the chemical, manufacturing or pharmaceutical industries, an understanding of environmental permitting, management of contractors, construction management and project management. You are also proficient in national legislation, including working knowledge of Process Safety Management, and have good understanding of international legislation (US). 

There is much to be done, so a self-starter is required to identify where the gaps are and collaborate across the organization to bring and embed robust solutions.

Your new team
It is an exciting time in Topsoe, and we can offer a great team environment, working in the Global HSE team in Lyngby but also with our EPCM team located in our offices near Hørsholm.  

Your role is anchored in the Global HSE Team where we are a team of HSE colleagues, each supporting specific Lines of Business in Topsoe. You will be supporting our EPCM Line of Business ensuring strong HSE presence in the EPCM projects across Topsoe. The EPCM function was formed in 2023 and is responsible for the delivery of both client and investment projects.  

The EPCM team is a growing department, and you will have the opportunity to be influencing the team to drive the HSE agenda. In Topsoe we thrive on change and innovation, supporting each other to achieve common goals
