A Chemical Engineer to support refinery clients mainly in North America region as Technical Service Engineer
The Technical Service Engineer has strong fundamentals knowledge on hydroprocessing catalysts and technologies. This includes being familiar with catalyst, kinetics, process and operation of hydroprocessing units.

Role Description
This is a full-time hybrid role for a Technical Services Engineer located in Houston, TX. The Technical Service will be responsible for day-to-day tasks associated with client's hydroprocessing units and use of proprietary models to help the analysis of the catalyst's performance, unit operation, and predict any potential future catalysts replacements of these industrial plants.
Your responsibilities
- Prepare technical proposals and reports for clients in close cooperation with Account Managers
- Support troubleshooting cases.
- Challenge, optimize and generate new methodology of catalysts calculation.
- Advise clients on optimizing their operation and use of catalysts.
- Participate in relevant conferences representing Topsoe.
- Support our Account Managers in technical sales meetings.
- Supervise catalyst loading and unit start-up.
- Travel between up to 30% of the time per year which include on-site jobs and client visit with Account Manager.
- Participate in internal training, knowledge sharing and technical meetings
Qualifications
- Legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
- Refinery experience, preferable in hydroprocessing applications.
- B.S. in Chemical Engineering.
- Data analytic oriented.
- Good proficiency in Microsoft Office tools with special emphasis on Excel.
- Have flair for troubleshooting.
- Flexibility to travel within North America and occasionally outside North America up to 60-90 days per year.
- Have a flexible and solution-oriented way of approaching people and tasks.
- Demonstrate initiative as well as technical flair.
- Are committed to your work, strive to make a difference and take ownership of own tasks.
- Actively seek to strengthen your own knowledge related to the business.
- Have excellent communication and teamwork skills and thrive in cross-cultural contexts.
- Strong communication skills, verbal and written.
