HSE Manager for Herning SOEC plant

Role And Impact:
As the Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Manager for our new Herning site - where we produce SOEC (Solid Oxide Electrolyzer Cells) - you’ll play a key role in supporting local site management and promoting our zero harm culture. Reporting to Topsoe’s Global Head of HSSE, you’ll be responsible for overseeing all aspects of HSE management and assurance at Herning, while providing solid risk mitigation support across the organization.

In this position, you’ll take the lead on implementing and maintaining HSE standards, making sure our site meets both company and regulatory requirements. You’ll develop and review local procedures and processes, ensuring our policies, training programs, and risk assessments are thorough and effective. Collaboration will be key to your work, as you’ll partner with colleagues across different departments to promote best practices and a consistent approach to safety.

Monitoring and tracking HSE performance data will be a regular part of your role, helping us identify opportunities for improvement and maintain a unified safety culture throughout the site. You’ll also be responsible for incident management, ensuring any issues are addressed quickly and effectively, and that lessons learned are shared to prevent future occurrences.

This is a great opportunity for someone who is passionate about safety, enjoys working with people, and wants to help shape the future of clean energy. If you’re committed to making a positive impact and thrive in a collaborative environment, we’d love to hear from you.

What You Will Bring:
To excel in this role, you will bring extensive experience - ideally gained within HSE roles in chemical, energy, oil and gas, manufacturing, or other heavy industries. You possess a strong understanding of international HSE standards, regulations, and best practices, and have a proven track record in managing HSE aspects related to manufacturing, construction, and project environments. Your problem-solving abilities and interpersonal skills will enable you to navigate complex challenges and collaborate effectively with colleagues at all levels. Key competencies include:

  • Deep knowledge of HSE regulations and standards
  • Experience in developing and implementing HSE procedures
  • Strong analytical and incident management skills
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities

Ability to read, talk and understand Danish is a must.
