We are now looking for a new colleague to coordinate & lead Environmental management activities at the SOEC factory in Herning.

The role and impact
We’re on the hunt for an Environmental Lead who will help us set high standards for how we work with health, safety and environment in the SOEC factory in Herning. You will primarily focus on the Environmental part, but with some health & safety aspects as necessary. You have a scientific background such as BSc or MSC in Environmental Sciences, Environmental Health, Chemistry, or Biology disciplines, and you have some years of experience within HSE in a manufacturing environment. Alternatively, you have significant experience in working with environmental management in a production environment.

Your initial focus will, as part of the project organization responsible for building the factory, be on:

• Defining, writing & implementing HSE procedures and instructions for a new production environment.
• Defining, writing & implementing HSE systems for a new production environment.

After the project implementation / Commissioning phase you will focus on:

• Ensure proper implementation of global and local standards, processes, and instructions.
• Initiate relevant improvements and changes to standards, processes, and instructions.
• Carry out audits and follow up on deviations.
• Follow up on and handle spills & environmental incidents.
• Develop and implement procedures ensuring ongoing compliance with environmental approval.
• Handle reporting & applications towards authorities (Develop procedures and instructions).
• Develop and maintain internal energy management handling & reporting procedures and instructions.

What you’ll bring 
You are motivated about being part of the journey establishing a factory and after the commissioning to be in a more well-established job. You are self-motivated and can work under pressure and on own initiative as well as taking decisions quickly. You thrive using your organizational and technical knowledge and have good communication skills both written and verbal. Your knowledge of HS & E process planning in a mass production company are preferably strong. You know the importance of engaging with colleagues throughout the organization incl. the production floor. 

Preferably you have experience with:
•    ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards and management systems
•    Environmental and Health & Safety legislations
•    Environmental management, waste management, and energy management.
•    Chemistry/biology and occupational health disciplines
•    Communication with external stakeholders & authorities
•    Internal Auditing

Your new team is a team of 4 persons covering all aspects of HSE. We are all new to Topsoe but bring a lot of knowledge with us which we combine with the Topsoe standards. We are curious and have fun together during the daily work.
