Senior Electrical Engineer - Power-to-X

The role and impact
Join our Engineering and Supply Chain team and help shape the future of green electrification in the global chemical and refinery industries. We are looking for a skilled Senior Electrical Engineer who will own the design of the electrical system for our Solid Oxide Electrolyzer Cell (SOEC) units - from power supply integration to SOEC cell connectivity. Your expertise will be instrumental in advancing the design and industrialization of our SOEC technology, renowned for its exceptional energy efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and finalize electrical design for our prototype, including pre-commissioning and commissioning activities
  • Transfer insights and best practices from initial projects to the ongoing development of the SOEC product
  • Maintain and continuously improve the electrical architecture of our SOEC units
  • Identify and implement cost-saving solutions to optimize the SOEC design for large-scale, cost-effective manufacturing
  • Ensure product quality by upholding rigorous standards throughout the design and production process
  • Source and evaluate alternative manufacturers to achieve high-quality production at lower costs
  • Apply ‘Design to Cost’ principles, including Design for Manufacturability (DfM), Design for Assembly (DfA), and Design for Serviceability (DfS), to support efficient and scalable product launches.

What you’ll bring
You are passionate about innovation and efficiency, with a strong background in electrical design and manufacturing for industrial applications. You excel in collaborative environments, leveraging the strengths of your teammates to achieve outstanding results in product development, manufacturing optimization, and supply chain management. While you are a dedicated team player, you also demonstrate independence and initiative in planning your work, expanding your expertise, and building networks both within and outside the organization.

Additionally, you bring

  • Practical experience with key instrument and electrical codes and standards, such as NEC, IEC, ISO, ISA, IES, API, CE, and UL
  • Expertise in voltage ranges from 110VAC up to 20kV, including three-phase systems
  • Proven experience in proper earthing/grounding practices to ensure the safety of equipment and personnel
  • Solid understanding of electrical equipment in low and medium voltage (LV/MV) power distribution networks, including power supply units and AC/DC systems
  • Advanced skills in electrical calculations and reporting using ETAP, including load flow, short circuit, motor studies, and harmonic analysis
  • Hands-on experience with the electrification of process equipment, including cable sizing, routing, and preparing installation drawings
  • Familiarity with control systems such as DCS, ESD/SIS, and Fire & Gas (F&G) systems.
