Epoxy Technician

The role and impact
Are you a skilled technician with a passion for epoxy embedding and materials analysis? If you thrive on hands-on work and want to make a real impact in a cutting-edge laboratory, we want to hear from you.

As our new Epoxy Technician, you’ll play a key role in preparing high-quality samples for advanced research and development. You’ll use your expertise to operate and maintain specialized equipment, with a particular focus on epoxy embedding of layered and complex materials. Your work will directly support groundbreaking projects in solid oxide electrolyte (SOEC) technology and beyond.

You’ll be responsible for ensuring that every embedded sample meets the highest standards, ready for detailed examination using state-of-the-art techniques such as scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), and electron microprobe analysis.

What you’ll do:

  • Prepare and embed a variety of samples using epoxy and alternative methods
  • Operate precision lab equipment for cutting, grinding, and polishing
  • Maintain strict safety standards and a spotless workspace
  • Analyze samples under microscopes (both light optical and SEM) and create reports to send to scientists
  • Innovate new techniques for fragile or layered materials
  • Document workflows and help train your colleagues
  • Manage multiple projects efficiently and meet tight deadlines.

What you’ll bring
We’re seeking an expert in epoxy embedding, someone who thrives on preparing complex, layered, and non-porous materials for cutting-edge research. If you have hands-on experience with SOEC, concrete, or geological samples, and know how to cut, polish, and embed with accuracy and care, we want to meet you.

We expect you to have:

  • Certification in epoxy embedding
  • 2+ years’ experience in a relevant field (SOEC, concrete, geology, etc.)
  • Proven skills in workflow documentation and training
  • Strong attention to detail and quality
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Experience with microscopy or analytical techniques is a plus.
