Who we’re looking for

We are looking for a highly experienced Public Affairs Specialist at Topsoe's Brussels team to play a pivotal role in supporting the effective execution of our public affairs strategy. 

 

This role supports the Head of Office in navigating the complex EU policy landscape, amongst which you will:

  • cultivate and nurture relationships with EU institutions, industry associations (Hydrogen Europe, CEFIC, Eurometaux, Renewable Hydrogen Coalition), NGOs, and other key players
  • be the face of Topsoe at meetings, conferences, and events, championing our interests with passion and precision
  • be an instrumental contributor in the development of (persuasive) position papers, consultation responses, policy briefs, and other advocacy tools that make our case clear and compelling
  • communicate and coordinate seamlessly with internal teams to align public affairs activities with our business goals
  • keep our internal stakeholders informed and engaged with clear communication on policy developments and their implications
  • support and orchestrate impactful events, workshops, and meetings with policymakers and stakeholders
  • ensure every event is a success, with effective follow-up and thorough documentation of outcomes
  • produce insightful reports on public affairs activities, stakeholder engagements, and policy trends.

 

What you’ll bring

  • A bachelor’s degree in political science, International Relations, Public Policy, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus
  • 7+ years of experience in public affairs, government relations, or a related field, with a strong grasp of the EU context
  • A deep understanding of EU legislative and regulatory processes
  • Top-notch communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellence in building and maintaining relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders
  • Content-driven approach with sharp analytical skills
  • Ability to work independently but thrive as part of a team
  • Fluency in English. Proficiency in other European languages is a bonus.
