Head of Public Affairs in Brussels

Role and impact:
As Head of Public Affairs in Brussels, you will be responsible for shaping,  advancing and executing Topsoe’s advocacy campaigns and positions towards key decision-makers and organizations in Brussels and towards selected EU member states. Your leadership and presence in Brussels will ensure that Topsoe´s voice within the EU is heard and that our interests are reflected in EU strategic priorities and legislation.
You will represent Topsoe in conversations with the EU institutions (the Commission, the Parliament and the Council) and represent Topsoe in the relevant European interest organizations and alliances. Your role involves providing insights and strategic advice to Topsoe´s Senior Leadership Team and the organization on EU policy developments that could have an impact on Topsoe´s business and our strategic objectives. Also, you will be responsible for identifying “gaps” in EU policy and regulations which could drive the demand of renewable and low-carbon fuels hydrogen in Europe.

What you will bring:
You thrive in a Danish, family-owned company with a flat management structure, where leadership is hands-on, and decisions are made quickly with clear accountability, and you are comfortable leading externally while also managing the administrative responsibilities that come with the local role.
You bring profound strategic thinking, experience within the energy transition, and a well-established network within the European institutions and the European Commission in particularly. You thrive in a complex environment and like to influence outcomes. With a strong track record in EU public affairs management and government relations - ideally from industry, consultancy, or one of the EU institutions - you operate effectively in “the EU bubble” driving advocacy campaigns and stakeholder engagements grounded in a deep understanding of the EU decision-making process and regulatory frameworks.
You communicate clearly and effectively both in written and orally, translating EU policies and regulation to the Topsoe organization and complex technical solutions to the political system in Brussels. Finally, you are recognized for your integrity and professionalism, and you can work independently while ensuring strong collaboration and alignment with the Topsoe organization.

Why join us:
In this key strategic role, you will get a chance to work with some of the most pressing agendas of our time: climate change, the energy transition, decarbonization, energy security and resilience. You will get a deep insight into Topsoe´s cutting-edge energy solutions and drive Topsoe’s thought leadership in the EU. Leveraging your strong and extensive network, you will actively advance the energy transition and open doors to new opportunities for Topsoe and you. You will enjoy the autonomy to manage your own schedule and take ownership of how Topsoe’s voice is heard, ensuring our influence is felt, and our ambitions for the energy transition are realized. This is your chance to make a tangible impact in Europe while working in a visionary, technology-driven and global company.

Your new team:
You will lead Topsoe’s Brussels presence, with overall responsibility for the day-to-day operation and strategic direction of a lean, high-impact office (two people). Reporting to the Head of Public Affairs, EMEA and PPP in Denmark, you will be closely integrated in her team at  our headquarters in Lyngby (Greater Copenhagen area) and collaborate with the larger Sustainable and External Affairs Team and Topsoe colleagues in general. The position provides frequent  engagement with senior internal and external stakeholders, continuous strategic sparring, and a clear policy strategy  to advance Topsoe’s  agenda.

How you can apply:
If you would like to be part of a high-performance team in an ambitious, but informal organization, please submit your application in English.
Please contact Head of Public Affairs, EMEA and PPP, Therese  Bording Hermann, on mail: tbhe@topsoe.com if you want to know more about the position. The deadline for applications is February 2, 2026.
We welcome applications from all qualified candidates, irrespective of their gender, age, religion, disability, ethnic background, and geographical location. We encourage individuals from diverse cultures and countries to apply and contribute to our global team.

To ensure a secure and trustworthy work environment, our recruitment process may include background checks, requests for criminal records, and contact with references.
