Senior Technical Service Engineer – Renewables Technical Sales and Service

Topsoe is hiring for a Principal Engineer at its US office, located in the Clear Lake area of Houston, TX. As a Principal Engineer in our Renewables Technical Sales and Service team you will be involved in the technical support of existing clients and the technical aspects of the catalyst sales process for new clients. Topsoe is the leading licensor and catalyst supplier for the renewable fuels production, including renewable diesel and sustainable aviation fuel. In this role you will gain exposure to this new technology and rapidly growing industry, and have the opportunity to work alongside Topsoe’s Sales, Technology Licensing, and R&D organizations to expand your technical knowledge and commercial acumen.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Work alongside Account Managers to support initial sales and ongoing service of catalysts for renewable fuels production.
  • Analyze data from unit operations to help clients monitor and optimize catalyst performance.
  • Prepare and present technical proposals and catalyst performance evaluation reports to clients.
  • Supervise catalyst loading and unit start-up.
  • Travel can be up to 30% of the time to support on-site catalyst related activities and customer meetings.

 

Qualifications:

  • B.S. Chemical Engineering
  • 6+ years of experience in the refining industry preferably with hydroprocessing experience.
  • Experience or knowledge of renewable diesel or sustainable aviation fuels production preferred but not required.

 

Skills:

  • Strong communication skills, verbal and written.
  • Capability to present technical topics in a clear and concise manner.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
